Seattle is America’s most well-read city for two years in a row, according to Amazon. Texas is the most well-read state with four of its cities making the top 20 list.
Seattle, where Amazon is based, bought the most books, magazines, and newspapers. Portland, Ore., is number two in 2015 and again this year. The 2016 list featured the same cities as the 2015 list, most of them trading places.
The rankings are based on the online-retail giant’s book, magazine, and newspaper sales in both print and Kindle formats, from April 2015 to April 2016, on a per capita basis in cities with more than 500,000 residents.
