Grove Atlantic and Partners Establish Literary Hub as Go-To Site for Readers

Books6A group of publishers, literary journals, and independent bookstores established Literary Hub ( as a one-stop Web site where readers will find both original and curated content. The site will go live today.

“We need a go-to site for literary culture, but no one can create it alone,” said Morgan Entrekin, Grove Atlantic president and publisher, in a press release. “All of us who are producing literary content must work together.”

Grove Atlantic and Electric Literature formed a partnership to create the site with the support of more than 100 organizations representing diverse literary stakeholders. Johnny Diamond, the Web site’s editor-in-chief, will curate the content with the help of contributing editors such as Roxanne Gay, Rebecca Wolff, and Alexander Chee.

LitHub will provide a place for literary news, excerpts, author interviews, essays, and feature articles. It’s not just an aggregator. It will commission and pay for long-form articles and essays. It plans to spotlight regional literary markets and bookstores with the help of regional correspondents.

The Web site’s launch coincides with the opening of the American Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Conference today in Minneapolis. The annual conference draws about 12,000 writers, students, teachers, editors, literary agents, and publishers, making it the largest literary gathering in North America. This year’s conference will run from April 8-11.

LitHub Accepts Submissions
